Friday 20 December 2013

Ahhhhh, years end is almost here. I was just thinking about this past year, so I thought I might as well write about it.

I always get kind of sad when the year is coming to an end. We will never have another year that's 2013. I guess you are supposed to look forward right? On to bigger and brighter things, the possibilities are endless for 2014. Who will we be? What will we do?

Personally, I feel like I wasted my last half of the year. I stopped paying attention to me and I lost balance. Every time I lose balance in my life, I get a visual of myself falling over...which is exactly how it feels.

I had made 2 resolutions at the start of 2013. Number 1 was to reach my goal weight of 160...that didn't happen. Number 2 was to be more positive. Even though I had "moments" of negativity, I think those who know me would agree that I have been more positive. I'm pretty proud of that to be honest. However, now that I can continue to be more positive about my outlook, resolution number 1 will be within reach. I have some goals that are going to help me reach that.
First of all, I'm jumping on the "bike wagon" (as in bandwagon but a bike ;)) and I'm going to join the bike club with George. This winter we will be on our turbo trainers getting in shape for the season! Another event planned for next year is the "underwear affair" in Edmonton. 10K!! I'm going to be doing this with my sister and she says we can do 10 K, so it will happen.

Since we are technically just starting winter, it seems kind of silly to just be talking about running and cycling. Until the snow goes, I will be trying out my early Christmas gift; a pair of cross country ski's!

Although I'm not where I thought I would be at this point on a health and fitness level, I know I'm going to get there. I also know I'm going to have fun trying new things and challenging myself along the way. I can honestly say I'm looking forward to a new year with exciting challenges!

Happy New Year everyone!
